Sunday Morning Dream

This is photo was taken in Yosemite Valley on one of my Photography Workshops I hold there on a regular basis. This morning was a chilly 22 degrees and we arrived at about 6:30am so we could get the first glimpse of sunrise. This is a very famous location within Yosemite Valley called “Valley View” which is very fitting because it looks down the Valley with the steep walls of granite on either side.
When we arrived it was a very splendid view with the deep snow on the the grass mounds within the Merced River and the frost still strangling the trees on the opposite shore line and a fine layer of fog just on top of the river. It was a very beautiful scene unfolding in front of our eyes and a beautiful morning to be teaching a class on Landscape Photography. At that time, I’m shooting with a Nikon D810 14-24 Nikon lens at 19mm ISO 100, f/16, 1.6 secs. Perfect day as Sunday morning dream for me.
