Jatiluwih is a famous place as best place to see rice fields in Bali and it has been appointed as one of UNESCO World Heritages. On Sunday, I left my house at 3 am to find the moment of sunrise. I go to Jatiluwih located in the Sub-District of Penebel, Tabanan Regency, Bali. When I’ve arrived at the location within 1.5 hours, I can feel the village is surrounded by cool atmosphere because it’s located in the height of 700 meters above sea level. Then, I walked for 20 minutes to get to the point of shooting. It was still dark and I walk around with the sound of crickets and frogs.

Jatiluwih is a village that has vast rice paddies with beautiful views of terraced paddy landscape, here also one of the favorite places in Bali for the landscape photographer. That makes me interested in photographing the rice fields because the composition and lines of fresh air. It’s feels more unique, when I had to get into the middle of rice fields were a bit muddy because I see something that catches my attention and against the dominance of rice plants around it. In such conditions, the real challenge comes up! How to make rice paddies photo or in the area of rice fields, became the photos are still alive and dynamic.

I took this picture using Nikon 5D mk II lens 16-35 mm L, ISO 50, F/ 22, Exposure 0,5 Sec, Focal Length 16 mm on 6.40 am. After sunrise moment passed, you can see the view of the mount Batukaru from here. So, I highly recommend to visit Jatiluwih while you in Bali. Enjoy the moment of sunset and sunrise in Jatiluwih green land.
