I really like shooting forests and tree lined road, and normally I only go out when the light conditions are right. During a morning in spring 2016, the light was quite nice at my place. There was some fog creating a beautiful, moody atmosphere. Once arrived at this location in Lochem (the Netherlands) the light conditions were actually not that great. But at the same time, I knew that with some processing, changing colors and contrasts, I could create a picture that seemed to be taken from your dreams.

Since a few months, I also give workshops to teach people how to shoot photos in the forest and to show them how I process them. The main problem encountered in forests is to find an interesting and clean composition. I always try to look for interesting lines, which can be difficult in some forests. But in the Eastern parts of the Netherlands we have some very nice estates with beautiful tree lined roads that create interesting leading lines.

For making this photo, I used a Sony a5100 with a 18-200 lens. The settings for this photo were: f/11, ISO 100, 1/5 s, 110 mm. For processing I used Photoshop and NIK Color Efex Pro.
